VA Creates Grant Program for Service Members Transitioning to Civilian Life

Awards of $500k will be matched by recipient organizations.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) recently announced a new grant program for military personnel transitioning to civilian life. The VA expects to award a total of $4 million in increments of $500,000 in the first year. The organizations that receive the grants will match each $500,000 award, offering additional resources to families looking to make this significant life change.

“These grants will help our nation’s service members —and their spouses — get the tools and assistance they need to get the jobs they deserve,” said Under Secretary for Benefits Joshua Jacobs. “Our goal is to put service members and their families into positions where their transition out of the military isn’t only manageable — it’s successful — and empowers them to continue to lead our country.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Under Secretary Jacobs to be discerning as he heads the VA Office of Benefits.
  • For VA Secretary Denis McDonough to receive God’s direction as he oversees federal care for U.S. veterans.
